Animal Prints are Trending (again)

For anyone with their finger anywhere even near the style pulse, you will have noticed that fashion’s current love for animal print was perfectly pre-empted during February’s seasonal runway shows across the globe. Animal-print coats! Animal-print dresses! Animal-print matching sets!
From Tom Ford to Diane Von Furstenberg via the likes of Victoria Beckham, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors – to name just a few – designers everywhere indulged their animal instinct and turned their catwalks into urban jungles.
And with the trend well and truly ripe for picking, both high-end and high street stores are bursting at the seams with wild options.
Animal pattern stands above the rest for adding a sophisticated, yet playful touch of flair to any outfit. While you may have a leopard print item or two in your closet, this bold print can still be intimidating as it teeters on the edge of stylish glam and over-the-top fashion faux pas.

It’s not the easiest trend to pull-off, however, it is very possible to wear the print in a chic, almost understated way (I said ‘almost’).

The first tip: Consider animal print a neutral. Pair it with pieces the same way you would a pair of black denim, a jean jacket or some brown booties.

If you’ve grown tired of your little black/plaid blazer, give animal print a try! To prepare for the cooler temperatures ahead, this blazer which features the chic snake print pattern is my current favorite. It can be worn to work or play, day or night and with any neutral ensemble for a fun and fashionable touch of glam.
It’ll look fabulous when paired with some simple slip dress, strappy black heels, and although the print is bold, it makes a stylish statement without crossing the line.

Second tip: All gold everything!! I love how leopard/snake prints incorporate gold accessories for the next level of fashion forward.

Other easy ways to successfully rock the party animal : paire any of these blazers with black denim, dark jeans, neutral colored shorts or even leather pants.
